2008 Schedule of Events  January 2008 – Scandinavian Film Festival Members of DACC are invited to join the annual Scandinavian film festival in Los Angeles, this year showcasing six Danish films over two weekends, among features from Sweden, Norway, and Finland as well. The dates are January 5-6 and January 12-13, and tickets are available at USD 10 per screening, students are free. March 6-7, 2008 – Danish American Business Summit Your organization, DACC of Southern California, is responsible of the third annual business summit working to strengthen Danish and American business relations. The theme is “Competitiveness In Action”, and CEOs, trade officials, the Danish ambassador to the US, and professors will appear both on the speaker, sponsor, and attendee side. April 7-9, 2008 – Entrepreneurial Days The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce invites DACC members to join their annual E-days in San Diego that last year attracted more than 900 people. The purpose of the E-days is to facilitate business between the US and Northern Europe, business clusters, business-to-business and business matchmaking. April 30, 2008 – DACC Business Mixer Prepare yourself for a casual event, hosted at World Café in beautiful Santa Monica. The purpose is business and social networking. Meet new people, share your experiences – and gain some new ones – with fellow members of the organization and board of directors. May 15, 2008 – DACC General Membership Meeting Make an influence on DACC 2008 – come join our annual membership meeting; it is open for all present as well as future members and spouses to hear about the past year and our future plans and activities within the DACC of Southern California. DACC President and Business Summit Chair, Soren Eilertsen will present highlights of the 2008 Summit. Furthermore, the President and Treasurer of DACC will also give a presentation on their reports of the past year as an opening to general discussion. June 25, 2008 – Company visit: Danfoss Sea Recovery The CEO of the US department, Henrik Wendelboe presents Danfoss Sea Recovery's strategy and future goals on the American market and will give us a tour around the facilities in Carson, CA. June 28, 2008 – SCAN Mid-summer party The Scandinavian Center at Nansen Field hosts it’s 8th annual mid-summer party with food, live music and dance. Tickets are $30 if purchased before June 25, here after they will be $35. The Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish Chambers of Commerce all support the event, and therefore we invite you as a member to do the same and join the celebration of mid-summer! Ultimo June/primo July 2008 – Tentative: Dane Thomas Eje live in Las Vegas The Danish multi-talented entertainer Thomas Eje is back in Las Vegas with his show at Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino. DACC is working on a joint trip of fun and entertainment. More info to come! July 10, 2008 – Tentative: LA Galaxy Corporate visit Your organization is currently working on a corporate visit at the LA Galaxy stadium, potentially to watch a game and/or get a presentation from the business unit. November 4, 2008 – Workshop: “Focus on results – How to set and achieve goals” Honored DACC President Soren Eiltersen will host a seminar on to optimize the efficiency of your business. More info to come! December 2008 – Julefrokost We love the DACC tradition of the Danish julefrokost with Danish food, presents, the cosiness as only known amongst Danes, and snaps!
